Idioms are words, phrases, or expressions that are either grammatically unusual, as in, “Long time, no see!”, or their meaning cannot be taken literally, as in, “It's raining cats and dogs!” This expression does not mean that cats and dogs are falling from the sky, but it is a metaphorical expression (word picture) that means that it is raining very heavily.

EXPLANATION
This is the topic which deals with IDIOMS, because as we all know an idiom is an expression that cannot be immediately understood by analyzing its literal meaning, so idioms will be hard to understand for non-native speakers.
OBJECTIVE
- To make students identify idioms as groups of words with special meanings that paint a mental picture for the reader.
- To show an understanding of the metaphorical meanings of selected idioms by using them in sentences
PERSPECTIVE
This padlet is created as an English Teacher
DESCRIPTION
Students will have to read the definition of idioms and then they will have to write their opinion. They will be able to watch a video based on the topic and will have to come up with their own examples. An online website will be applied to students in order to practice some idioms. Students will have to create a story with some of these expressions. In the end, before the test, they will play an online game about the topic. After all, students have to take the test in order to check out what they have learnt.
