The first time waster is devices. Devices are when we allow ourselves to get distracted by social media, gaming, streaming, and/or music. This is a time waster because it is a really big distraction and temptation when we are working. This can affect my leadership journey because if you are constantly distracted by devices or social media it can take you off course from your goals and achievements.

The second time waster is lack of motivation. Lack of motivation is when we do not value or have interest in a task so we chose not to complete it. This task can be seen as lame or boring. This is a time waster because when we lose our motivation we lose almost everything that keeps us on track. This can affect my leadership journey because if you are always at a loss of motivation you will never want to do work and never go after your goals or reach them.

The third time waster is poor organization. Poor organization is when a task seems big and we do not know how to break it apart or where to begin. This is a time waster because when we have poor organization most things can fall apart in your daily schedule and life. This can affect my leadership journey because if I always have poor organization I cannot plan my goals correctly, get things done on time, and have a good schedule that can guide me to my goals.

The fourth time waster is poor time management. Poor time management is when we do urgent rather than important tasks first. This is a time waster because if you cannot manage your time correctly and efficiently then you won't have order or rules to get things done in time. This can affect my leadership journey because if you have poor time management you cannot manage the time it takes to reach your goals, the time it takes to do certain tasks or activities, and to do basically anything.

The fifth time waster is unrealistic time estimates. Unrealistic time estimates is when we do not understand how long a task may take and delay it. This is a time waster because if you are just busy thinking how long an assignment or task or goal will take, you will be busy thinking "what if" instead of actually finishing the task. This can affect my leadership journey because if I waste my time by thinking how long certain goals or assignments will take I will never get them done.

My Favorite Procrastination Quote

My favorite procrastination quote is, "You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step" that was written by Martin Luther King Jr. This quote is my favorite because this is true for every phase and part of your life. You do not need to know and see the future, you do not need to know how everything will work out.... you just need to take that first step and first achievement. Celebrate small victories!

The first strategy is at the end of the day/weekend, make a list of everything you have to do the next day. This is just to plan better so that your day goes more smoothly, orderly, and you don't have to run around wondering what to do next. This benefits leadership because making lists can help you become a better leader in the future that can delegate tasks, plan out group tasks, and also planning a list for you to do as well.

The second strategy is to gather everything you need to start and finish the task; get it ready to start the next morning. This is just to be able to have that motivation to wake up and get your work done. With your work already laid out and everything already set up can make you feel more motivated to finish it. This benefits leadership because setting up things in the morning if you are running a building or business as a leader in the future this can help with getting things done faster and having your team get straight to work.

The third strategy is to discipline yourself to get up, get ready, and start the task without interruptions before you do anything else. This is just to be able to have that self discipline and to control what your wants are to put your needs first. This is so that you can learn good habits to reach your goals and get things done. This benefits leadership because a good leader knows to have self discipline and self control. This can help with getting things done time, helping your team reach their full potential, and guiding them correctly while setting good examples.
