The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact signed between the Nazis and the Soviets ensured that Hitler would not have to fight on both the Western and Eastern fronts as they did in WW1 which led to Germany losing the war as their troops and resources were exhausted. Also included in a secret protocol of the pact was the partitioning of Poland between the two countries.
