"'We have followed you,' they said, 'and we shall follow you wherever you go. If danger threatens you, we shall face it also. If it be death, we shall die with you'" (Rand 82)

Personal Connection ~ I connect with this quote, because there was a time when I was going through a medical issue. All of my family helped me get through it and stood by me. They helped me get back to where I needed to be. If I didn't have their support then I wouldn't be where I am now. So this quote is like my situation, because Liberty supported Equality in his decision to run away. Liberty wanted to go with Equality so she could help him.

"Our son will be raised a man. He will be taught to say 'I' and to bear the pride of it. He will be taught to walk straight and on his own feet. He will be taught reverence for his own spirit" (Rand 100).

Reflection ~ This quote made me think about how important it really is to teach your child good standards. I think Equality is very brave for running away and for being different. I also think it is a good idea for a child of young age to be taught this so that when they are older they will be wiser about making decisions like this.
