Seeing as we have been testing all week it is a harder week to respond to this, but I had both a good and bad experience this week with non attenders. One who has not attended all year attended and participated on time (K student) and another who was a regular attender learned to 'beat the system' and now only comes to school for morning meeting and no classes. Best and worse!

My worst moment was yesterday administering my first star assessments. One of the mom's told me both kids were crying because it was so hard for them. I learned that even when I prep the kids for what the test may be: some questions may be easy and some may be too hard. Some questions we may not have covered in class yet. Even though I prepped them, it was still heartbreaking to hear of the kids' responses.
