Gaining Florida had many benefits for the U.S. This includes Gaining the Florida territory defined the boundary between the U.S. and new Spain. This had been a problem for long. Before Spain sold Florida the native Americans will go to Florida and attack Spain citizens. After the U.S. gained this territory the boundary is defined and it caused the violence to reduce. Also Florida became land for the Indians( Native Americans).

After the United States purchased Florida from Spain the land became a territory for the Indians to live in. Florida was very hard to live in. The climate in Florida was very hard to live in. The U.S. military spent seven years putting down resistance at a cost of $20 million and 1,500 casualties for the Seminoles. This caused a lot of money to be damaged which could be used to gain other land or buy resource from other countries. The U.S also Succeeded after capturing the Seminole leader Osceola by peace talk.
