Siret: an inspiring English teacher from Turkey

This is Siret, who I met in 2021, when we took part in a teacher training project together. She's an English teacher in Hatay, in the South East of the country, near the border with Syria. After the programme finished, we kept in touch on social media.

On the 6th of February, a devastasting earthquake struck southern Turkey. Siret's life changed overnight. Her school and neighbourhood were destroyed, and she lost friends, neighbours, and students.

Despite the horrific events, since that day, Siret has worked tirelessly as a volunteer. She has delivered tents to homeless families, taken food to street animals, and now, she is teaching her students again, in a tent. She said "life is beautiful, no matter what."

I would like to honour her on International Women's Day for being a truly inspirational teacher and role model to her young students.

Maryam Mirzakhani was an inspirational woman that I admire her. She was a mathematician and professor of mathematics on Stanford University. She was the first woman who to be awarded a Fields Medal in the world (this medal is like a Nobel in maths).

She was born in Iran. When she studied at high school, she won the gold medal in maths. She was the first Iranian woman to win a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad.

She was an intelligent and hard-working woman who could achieve the high degree in mathematics in the world.

I admire my mother. She is already 81 years old. She was born during the Second World War, knows what hunger is like and has no clothes and shoes.
She went to study in a big city, graduated from university and got a job. She raised me and my brother together with my father.
There was always delicious food at home, many friends came to us on holidays, it was fun and cozy. We really liked walks in nature, trips to the sea and to the village to our grandmother, we worked in the country.
My mother is an example of a Woman, Mother, Wife!

I am admire all women's, because women have more difficult life than men. most of women actions may will have condemned. for example , she is decided will not a child or has more children than somebody thinking she can. Having or not husband. in addition women lacks time building career if she have a baby. she will have to interrupt work , and she can lost good chance in work. If the pair gets divorce , it is very likely that the, child will stay with women.
