Stimulants - like steroids they improve performance , addictive. 

Depressants - slows brain activity , Nashua , addictive. 

Crystal Meth - One of the worst drugs , Gets you high easily.

Cocaine - Highly Addictive , used at party's.

Marijuana - Gateway drug , usually is used because of peer pressure.
 
Prescription Drugs (Medicines, ex) Addictive , Makes You high easily. 

Alcohol - To clam them self down , peer pressure.

Tobacco - peer pressure , to look cool.
 
Cigar - like a cigarette they  cause things like cancer and heart attacks but not a s easily.

LSD / Acid - Hallucinations , addictive.

Bath Salts - Can be crushed up and smoked , addictive.

People use these to make them self's calm because they can be under a lot of stress. People think that if they have drugs they will feel better. People get into drugs or alcohol because of peer pressure. Alcohol is a depressant. That means it's a drug that slows down. People have to deal with peer pressure even adults. If they don't do something that others are doing then they are scared that people might laugh at them which is peer pressure. Self-esteem is a way of thinking and feeling about yourself. Low self-esteem is another way of thinking and feeling about yourself. Self esteem helps you have courage to try  new things. 
Kids with low self-esteem:

  • don't feel good about themselves
  • don't think they are as good as others
  • think mostly bad things about themselves
  • think of the times they fail, rather than the times they do well
  • are hard on themselves and give up easily
  • don't feel liked, accepted, or respected

Kids with self-esteem:

  • feel good about themselves
  • feel proud of what they can do
  • believe in themselves, even when they don't succeed at first
  • see their own good qualities, such as being kind or capable
  • feel liked, loved, and respected
  • accept themselves, even when they make mistake
People start abusing drugs such as medicine not just the evil drugs like heroin or cocaine but medicine such as advil, tylonal and couch syrup. People abuse those drugs because maybe they taste good or if they want to go to sleep and they can't they would take a sleeping and say "Hey this is good I should have more".  Low self-esteem makes kids feel unsure of themselves.

Crystal meth, because again, how addicting it is.  Anabolic steroids, because of how they increase your energy, and this makes people more "happy" with their lives. Young people also want to get high on everything, so everyday items like Advil, or Tylenol. So young people can use these items that are supposed to make us feel better, make them feel better, but in a wrong way. Young people also can get addicted to alcohol, and when they are under-aged, they want to try it EVEN MORE. This is how they get addicted to it, and it makes them seem "cool". Really, young people can get addicted to anything they lay their hands on, only because it makes them feel "good".     Sometimes kids and teens try drugs to fit in with a group of friends, or sometimes they might be curious or just bored so they may try drugs. Someone may use illegal drugs for many reasons, such as: to escape from reality for a while, to make someone feel better, if they are pressured into doing drugs, but it can cause people to abuse because when it wears off they may want to take more, which can make them addicted.  Drugs don't solve problems, using drugs often causes other problems on top of the problems the person had in the first place. Somebody who uses drugs can depend on them or become addicted. This means that the person's body becomes so used to having drugs that he or she can't function well without the drug. Once someone is addicted, it's very hard to stop taking drugs. Stopping can cause withdrawal symptoms, such as vomiting, sweating, and shaking (tremors). These sick feelings continue until the person's body gets adjusted to going back to their normal lifestyle. Making decisions on your own is very hard, but when other people get involved and try to pressure you one way or another it can be even harder. Some kids give in to peer pressure because they want to be liked, or because they worry that other kids might make fun of them if they don't go along with the group. Others go along because they are curious to try something new that others are doing. When "everyone's doing it", it can influence some kids to leave their better decisions behind. Drinking alcohol is dangerous for kids and teens and sometimes for adults, too. Alcohol is a drug, and it s the drug most abused by teens.Many kids have their first drink at an early age, as young as 10 or 11 or even younger. Other reasons why people take drugs is because they have a low self-esteem. They could take drugs because they:  
    • Don't feel good about themselves
    • Don't think they are as good as others
    • Think mostly bad things about themselves
    • Think of the times they fail, rather than the times they do well
    • Are hard on themselves and give up easily
    • Don't feel liked, accepted, or respected
    Those are some reasons why people abuse drugs.

Maybe their friends pushed them into it. Their friends are showing them how it is "so cool", and it: "makes them feel so good". When really, they are destroying themselves. Friends are one of the biggest reasons why we do things. Some people don't feel comfortable doing things unless their friends are there with them. Instead of agreeing to the worst decision of your life, you can say "no thank you", and offer another  less - dangerous option, like going to the mall, or an arcade. Another reason people use drugs is because of what they are going through, ad need something to relax them. We never know  what's going on in their lives, and we need to help them go to the right direction, before they become addicted. Sometimes, people can get prescription drugs, and then abuse those, but since the drug is legal, no one can do anything about it. Another reason might be that a certain drug isn't enough for them, so they progress on to bigger, more harmful drugs, (including alcohol).

    telling you how just because its a prescription drug does not mean  its healthier then molly and other street drugs but its only safe for people that have a prescription if you don't have a prescription and use a prescription drug  it can be just as bad as street drugs.

    is about how people think that taking laxatives are no big deal and will help them lose weight but they actually are taking water from the body and dehydration is a serious thing that can cause immediate death (fun fact i got sent to the hospital in california for dehydration) laxatives can also ruin the minerals in your body.

    Here are some reasons students/teens abuse substances...

    1. THEY WAN'T TO GO AGAINST THEIR PARENTS
    Many students are wound up so tight by their parents that they will do anything to rebel.

    2. TV
    Hollywood does a great job of giving teens the wrong ideas. They promote unrealistic lifestyles that are always sustainable by unrealistic choices (drugs).

    3. CURIOSITY 
    Most teens are just curious about what it's like to do drugs.
