"The Nez Perce Tribe functioned as a self-governing nation and the later, treaties with the federal government preserved the tribe’s status as a sovereign nation within the United States." Learn more about the Traditional Ways, and Treaties Here

This is a great starting place of learning but moving the classroom to activities centered around the land based history bring it alive and not only connect to the students through the knowledge and sense of learning in the classroom but expands this to more sense of feeling and touching. Because these places are real and still a part of the communities we are in.

Also working with Nimiipuu Fund and their Legal department to teach and educate the students we get awesome activates and events and worksesions like the Spending Frenzy, The stock Market Campaign, and Minor Trust.

"The Nez Perce Tribe upholds many traditional lifeways, including fishing, hunting, gathering, and traditional ceremonies and celebrations. All central to their way to being."

This is a great starting point for getting to know the culture of the people in our community. But getting involved and talking/being with the people in the community is far more enriching that the knowledge you can read. Go to the games, show up to things, and get involved in the community of the youth and people around you.
