Learning about color schemes was extremely helpful and I use it in every piece I plan on creating. I was able to turn this simple drawing into something more just by knowing primary, secondary, warm, and cool colors and the effects they have.

none of my favorite drawings are the ones I do in class. thats cause I try to balance both learning new things while also being time efficient to balance work for my other classes. But between the two that I like the most this one seems like the best for an open-house setting. A lot of these assignments have us drawing in 4 sections of the page, and everyone always seperates them into 4x4 boxes evenly placed on the page. I like to have a little bit more fun with those, making a more abstract seperation, and allowing them to dynamically cross over into eachother in a way that feels natural. It almost has a comic-book appeal to it. I'm also quite fond of the shading on this piece except for maybe on the bird thing in the secondary colour section.

I chose this art piece because I had a genuinely had a fun time painting it, and I think it really came out nicely. I was also able to learn how to draw petal like cherry blossom using pink paint and a bunch of q tips, as well as the frame of a tree, using brown paint, all from this project.
