4. Belief in the Prophets (Iman bir-Rasul)

Allah sent prophets and messengers to guide mankind.

What it means:

To believe Allah chose certain humans as prophets to convey His message.

They were all trustworthy, truthful, intelligent, and received revelation.

Prophets are role models in worship, character, and leadership.

Key Points:

-Allah sent 124,000 prophets (according to narrations), but only 25 are mentioned in the Qur’an.

-Some of the main prophets: Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Muhammad ﷺ.

-Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the final prophet (Khatam an-Nabiyyin) and the Qur’an is the final guidance.

5. Belief in the Hereafter

This is about life after death and accountability.

What it means:

-To believe that this world is temporary and the Hereafter is eternal.

-After death, every soul will face resurrection, judgment, and final destiny.

Key Events:

Death → Soul leaves the body.

Barzakh → The grave life, questioning by Munkar and Nakir.

Resurrection (Qiyamah) → All humans gathered.

Hisab (Judgment) → Deeds weighed, books of deeds given.

Sirat → The bridge over Hellfire.

Jannah (Paradise) or Jahannam (Hell) → Eternal abode.

Belief in the Hereafter makes Muslims live responsibly, knowing they will be judged.

6. Belief in Divine Decree (Qada – Qadar)

Everything happens by Allah’s will and knowledge.

What it means:

To believe Allah has perfect knowledge and control over all things.

He knows the past, present, and future.

Whatever happens (good or bad) is by His decree, but humans still have free will to choose right or wrong.

4 Levels of Qadr:

Knowledge → Allah knows everything.

Writing → Everything is written in Lawh al-Mahfuz (Preserved Tablet).

Will → Nothing happens except by Allah’s will.

Creation → Allah creates everything according to His wisdom.

A simple example:

If someone fails an exam, it is part of Allah’s decree, but he is responsible to study harder next time.
