Australopithecus Afarensis was one of the oldest hominid groups. They were also one of the first to be biped, meaning they could walk on 2 legs and use their hands for tools, carrying and gathering, and defending.

Homo Erectus

Homo Erectus was known as Upright Man, and they were the first group to use fire. They were taller and used better tools than Homo Habilis, and they were the fist hominid group to travel, since they could use fire for light, warmth and cooking to help them. Homo Erectus was also discovered before Lucy and Homo Habilis and other homnids like them, so thy were one of the first ones discovered

Homo Sapien Neanderthalensis

The Homo Sapien Neanderthalensis was one of the first Hominid group to have a sense of community. The were discovered by some mine workers on 1856, before Homo Erectus. Them having a sense of community was important, since it made them like us. They worked together to hunt animals and trap them, (they used spears) and when a group member died, they buried them and stuff.

Homo Sapien Sapiens

Homo Sapien Sapiens were like an improved version of Homo Sapien Neanderthalensis. They were called Doubly Wise Man. They did everything Neanderthals did, but they used better weapons. Also, they were known to do cave art. and that required lots of tools and thinking. The important part of the art is that that was a way they expressed felling, through art.
