Slovakia is a Central European country with its capital in Bratislava. It is known for its mountains, especially the High Tatras, and its many historic castles and manor houses. The country has a rich culture and beautiful nature, attracting tourists from all over the world.

Kosice is the second largest city in Slovakia. It is a beautiful city with big history. For example there is church called St Elizabeth’s Cathedral which is the largest church in Slovakia. It is a large and beautiful gothic cathedral with beautiful carvings and a chandelier right on the main street in the heart of Kosice. You can see Kosice from a bird's eye view from its top.

In addition, we have other historical monuments in Kosice, zoo, shopping centers, theater, gallery and many more.

You should definitely come to visit Kosice because I guarantee you that they are worth it.

And I would like to introduce you our Primary school in Rozhanovce, which is located in the centre of village so everyone including students from neighbour villages can access it on foot, by bike, by bus or by car.

Our school is 65 years old. There are about 400 students, 50 teachers and school employees.

The school is in one main building with big multifunctional gym and large sports field outside. There we can play many sports such as ping pong, basketball and football or do leisure activities.

Our school has three floors, on which classrooms are located, as well as a basement, where there are lockers for students. Some of the lockers are also located on the first floor.

In the main building you can find 17 classrooms, where pupils spend most of the day and teachers change for different lessons, then you can find there 4 special rooms, which are customized for specific subjects like biology or informatic.

In the area of our primary school is also a green edible garden created by the pupils. There are fruit trees and vegetables that are consumed by students.

And during warm summer days we spend lessons in our large garden gazebo with seats for pupils.

In our school we have a lot of activities like: Sports day, NO school bag day, the International Earth Day, World Water Day, Healthy food day and many others.

We can attend swimming, skiing and ice skating courses with our teachers. Our school also participates in various academic like are: art, music and sports competitions. We also do a lot of volunteering activities to make our lives better and to help community.

The village of Rozhanovce lies in the Košice basin in the valley of Hyľovo river and Torysa. Archaeologists have excavated here a settlement from the Neolithic, a settlement of the Bukovo mountain, culture and a barrow embankment from the late Hallštad period. The village has a rich history, the first written mention of the village dates back to 1270, when the village passed into the possession of Rajnold, who became the founder of the Rozgonyi family. Members of the family obtained important positions in Hungary.

The village was recorded in the history textbooks as the site of an important battle from 1312 between King Karol Róbert and the rebellious Omodej people.

But now, Rozhanovce is a great village with 2645 citizens.

Bratislava is the largest and most populated city in our country. It has over 478 000 citizens. Bratislava is in southwestern Slovakia. The Danube River and the Morava River flows through Bratislava. The city is known for it´s rich history. The history of the city was influenced by people of many nations and religions, eg. Austrians, Bulgarians, Croats, Hungarians, Czechs and Germans. In the past it was center and capital of The Kingdom of Hungary. It is also known for Bratislava castle and Devín castle. Today Bratislava is the political, cultural and economic centre of Slovakia.It is the seat of the Slovak president and the parliament. Many of Slovakia's large businesses and financial institutions have headquarters there so, many Slovaks go live there.

Rozhanovce is large village, in north-east from Košice. It’s one of the biggest villages near Košice. First mention about Rozhanovce was written by King Štefan V. in 1270. One of the oldest buildings is the Gothic church built in 1332. Rozhanovce has changed a lot until now.

Number of inhabitants and houses is increasing and country is growing every year.

There is a tradition of Abov folklore festival, which is held in country’s amphitheater every year during summer.

Today we got the opportunity to get here in Poland. Well, our preparations already started a couple of months ago. But with the knowledge that it will be worth it. We will meet new students. Their ordinary days and traditions.
