Fashion in the 1930s consisted of blouses for ladies along with silk dresses and satins for the girls. For the men and boys they wore top hats and other variations of them suits of cheaper cloth. (price declined because of depression) they also had to have plenty of jewelry for the girls to wear, because the icons wore a lot of bling and it started to be more in for the ladies.

People would line up in food lines to eat Corn and lower grade meat. They would have to set up these food lines, because people were so starving and hungry that there was nothing to eat.. Most people would eat anything they could find and wouldn’t have organized meals. Beggars were very common. They were people who tried to convince people to give them their food so they could eat and wouldn’t starve.

If you had about 2 to 3 dollars you could still consume enough to eat without being hungry. Food was scarce so people would beg. Common foods people would eat were cheap such as foods that were easy to consume and were light and easy to digest. Here some groceries prices in the 1930s 12 eggs would cost 18 cents. Soup would cost about 22 cents depending on where you live prices may vary.. Ketchup would only cost 9 cents a can. Things to buy in the 1930s were strikingly cheap to buy since the stock crash goods were very cheap.

One major problem is that the great depressions started on October 29th 1929 after a stock market crash that led to about ¼ of all people living in the U.S. had no jobs. That really affected the economy so most things slowed down. Another problem was that ww2 had just broken out at the end of the my era. Meaning that as we had just gotten done with the depression we had more problems to deal with. Adolf Hitler invading Poland on September 1939. People started to be in the draft to get ready for war a couple years later so peoples spirits weren’t up, because of many hard problems.

For this, I will be a black male living in the U.S. It was very hard for them to live during the 1930s, because people just didn’t treat them fairly so they didn’t have equal rights that the Whites had. It wasn’t until the 60s that black people would have rights and be treated fairly. It was also proven that blacks wages were 30% lower. That justs proves that they were discriminated throughout that time period.
