Post-War Period and Growth (1950s-1970s) Philippine Badminton Association (PBA) The sport’s governing body, the Philippine Badminton Association, was established in 1952. The PBA was crucial in organizing tournaments and promoting the sport at a national level.

1960s and 1970s, badminton grew in popularity as more public courts were built and the sport became accessible to a wider audience. School competitions and inter- club tournaments became common.

(1980s-1990s) National Competitions The establishment of national tournaments like the Philippine National Open provided a platform for local talents to showcase their skills.

International Participation Filipino players began participating in international competitions, including the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) and the Asian Games.

This sibling pair is one of the most successful in Philippine badminton history. They represented the Philippines in multiple SEA Games and were the first Filipino duo to qualify for the BWF World Championships. Kennie also reached world rank No. 11 in mixed doubles.
