It started off as a small company but is now a multi billion dollar corporation. On the site, you can subscribe to people who you enjoy they content of and be notified when they post new videos. In youtube's current state it hasn't been very efficient. A common phrase on youtube is "clickbait" which describes a video with a thumbnail and title to get the viewer's attention, and click on the video. however the the actually content of the video is unrelated to the captivating title. As an example of misinformation.
