Providing feedback on formative assessments that build up to the summarize assessments. Makes marking the summative assessment much quicker as feedback/comments have already been given.

Have them do 5 journals over the course of a week, choose one to edit and submit for a mark.

When asking students to complete practice assignments compare it to like skills in a sport or PAA class!! Practice, practice, are we still talking about practice?? UNTIL it’s game time baby!! Gametime is summative!!

More formative time/ assignments and less that is for summarize assessment.

Having answer key available to them has helped some students be able to catch up at home and do more on their own. Some students who take the answers without understanding the content understand the consequences very quick.

When students ask about a test question and have already written a correct answer, I put a checkmark in pen and write in the marks immediately. This relieves anxiety and they complete the test faster with more confidence
