It was hard for we students to adapt to these changes as we could not understand Japanese.          <description><![CDATA[<div>"When the Japanese Occupation started in February 1942, she had to stop school.  After that, for the three years of the Japanese Occupation, she attended a Japanese school, had to learn Japanese, but could not remember after that what she had learnt.  She attributes it to not wanting to remember anything associated with the Japanese.  So in 1945, at the end of the war, my mother was over-aged.  In 1946, she could not be enrolled in an English school, as they did not take in the over-aged girls.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The difference between schools changed. Before the Japanese Occupation, teenagers study in different school due to their races and result. During the Japanese Occupation, teenagers were combined together in the same school, even though they are in different races. Therefore, a school have multi-races. This cause teenagers made many new friends in different races. This makes teenagers learn to work with other races and bond with other races instead of bonding with friends in same races.<br><br>The language taught is different. Before the Japanese Occupation, teenagers were taught in English, Mother Tongue. During the Japanese Occupation, teenagers were taught in Japanese. It was hard for teenagers to cope with the new language. They need to start from basis. The teachers that used to teach the students have changed. All the local teachers had changed to Japanese teachers. They speak Japanese. It was difficult for teenagers to understand what the new teachers have taught them of the new Japanese subjects. Parents were worried about their child will lose out their own language. Therefore, they find tuition teachers to teach their child.<br><br>The teaching method have changed. Not only the language and teachers changed, but also the type of books teenagers used to study. Before the Japanese Occupation, teenagers usually used textbooks to study. During the Japanese Occupation, teenagers used comic books instead of textbooks. Teachers used comic books to brainwash teenagers that Japanese were kind person with their kindness highlighted.</div>]]></description>
