The brand is connected to Hermes the greek god! Hermes is the messenger of gods and the god of trade, merchants, thieves, shepherds, and travelers. So it only made sense to name them after this Greek god who was the god of trade, which is what their brand specializes in. Hermes specialize in travel and leather goods. Medusa also had the power that once someone stared into her eyes they would automatically fall in love with her and they could never leave her. This is just like what Versace is trying to explain with their products and items. That trident belongs to Poseidon, who is the god of the sea and represents strength.
