By drawing direct connections to real world issues, Teaching for Change encourages teachers and students to question and re-think the world inside and outside their classrooms, build a more equitable, multicultural society, and become active global citizens. 

We desperately want to fall in love with new characters, plots and worlds. We adore fresh magical systems, supernatural powers, and teenage protagonists finding themselves while facing impossible odds. But we are also critical readers. We like exceptional writing and story-telling, which means our reviews are fair, but critical when necessary.

This online space was designed to give us a home to share that love of reading with others as well as to organize voting and announcing winners of our First Annual Nerdies Book Awards.

Our mission is to cultivate a generation of boys who are recreational readers, who will choose their own books and don’t have to be led. We want boys to be compelled and inspired to read on their own because the stories and experiences mean something to them. We want to change the way boys look at reading.
