There are many goals that I've set for my future, for example
- To be a better Muslim
- To be a good student and graduate from IIUM with flying colours
- To succeed in life and hereafter, and many more

Throughout my participation in the usrah, I have gained a lot of knowledge such as manners with our neighbours, manners as a student, manners with parents during life and after death and so much more and I felt grateful that I was able to meet many new friends from other courses.

One thing that I would like to suggest is that after every session, the videos shared during the usrah also be shared in group chat to allow us to look at it again anytime. Also, the task given is doable and I felt really happy after I finished the task because I get to know all my cool groupmates :D

Title: Why is our Iman always been tested

This is a very common question from Muslims, people of other faiths, and those who have no faith—so it's important to think about it. Lack of answers can sometimes cause people to drift away from their faith—if a person does not understand why trials occur, they may begin to believe that life is unfair or that God is unfair. But Allah is Al-Adl, the Just, and Ar-Rahman, the Merciful; He never wishes ill for His servants, only the best for us. The Qur'an and hadith contain a wealth of evidence that helps us answer the question of why we are tested.

1) We were created to worship Allah

We were created to worship Allah, and we all made a promise to do so before we were sent to earth. Tests are a means for us to fulfill this promise. In fact, they are a “sunnah” of Allah – i.e. tests are the means by which Allah distinguishes between us, because they help to expose faith and lack of faith. Allah states in the Qur’an: ‘Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried? But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident those who are false.’ [Qur’an 29: 2-3]

2) Allah tests us to purify us and wash away our sins.

The Prophet (saw) said:“No calamity befalls a Muslim but that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it, even if it were the prick of a thorn.” [Bukhari, Muslim].

So instead of seeing tests as a punishment from Allah, this shows that in fact, Allah wants to save us from punishment – i.e. the punishment of the Hereafter which is much worse than any test faced in this Dunya.

3) A test can sometimes replace a worse misfortune

A test can be a form of protection from something that might have befallen us. Or being deprived of something might, in fact, be saving us from something that is not good for us, even though we don’t have the knowledge to realise it at the time. Allah tells us: “Perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.” [Qur’an 4: 19]. Therefore the test which might seem so awful to you at the time is, in fact, a blessing.

4) Tests are given to us to strengthen our iman (faith).

The Prophet (saw) said:“The people who face the most difficult tests are the prophets, then the righteous, then those following them in degree. A person is tried according to his religion. So if there is firmness in his religion, then the trial is increased, and if there is a weakness, then it is lightened. Verily a trial remains with a servant until he walks the earth having no sin left upon him.” [Bukhari].

Allah wants to refine us, out of His love and mercy, so that we can attain not just Paradise but the highest rank of the Prophets and the righteous. Tests expose our faults and weaknesses to ourselves—and that awareness enables us to be more focused and proactive in rectifying those aspects of our character.

Title: Why we need to be khushu'

What is khushu' ?
Khushu' - calmness, serenity, tranquility, dignity and humility.

One gains khushu from a fear of Allah and the sense that He is always watching. It means that one’s heart stands before its Lord with humility and submission.

It is crucial for us to be khushu' when performing our salah because it reminds us of death whilst we are praying.
Other than that, khushu' allow us to furthermore appreciate the beauty of the teachings of our religion, Islam.
Besides, our faith will be more stronger if we are khushu' while we worship Allah S.W.T.
Lastly, if we are khushu' in our salah, it gives us a chance to reflect on our ibadah.

Khushu' is therefore very important but it is something that is easily lost. However, if we get to maintained it or istiqamah and sincere in performing the prayer, then our faith would be strengthened. It may be difficult, but its definitely not impossible.

In Usrah 2, I learnt a lot of new things and gained a better understanding of my religion. By way of illustration, I learnt about the virtues that can be found in our prayers, fasting, zakah/sadaqah and so many more.

After I finished all the task, I felt really happy. Firstly, ofc because I completed the task but other than that is, I get the chance to be in a group with wonderful sisters. They were very helpful and kind too T-T. In addition, our amazing naqibah, Wawae is a very warm-hearted and funny person. There was never a dull moment during every usrah. I'm so glad that I got her as the naqibah for this semester, because I've never felt half-hearted when I have to join usrah ever since. With that being said, I don't think I have any suggestions to improve the usrah because this semester's usrah is the best yet, and Wawae did a great job as our naqibah. :D
