The regular price is $14.00 with a 15% off coupon, you would multiply 14.00 by .15 and get $2.10. You would then take 14.00 and subtract 2.10 and get $11.90. You then take the price you just got and multiply it by .08 and get $0.95 and that gets you the tax of the socks. Last, you take the tax price, and add it to the sale price. I am using the 20% off coupon so to get 20% off regular price which is $179.99 you multiply .2 times 179.99 and that is $35.99. So now you take $179.99 and subtract the $35.99 and you get $144.00 and that is your price before tax. So 8% of the after coupon price you multiply .08 times 144 equals 11.52 so you add that to 144 and that equals $155.52 so that is the final price!

So I multipled 14.99 x .30

You have to change the discount percent to a decimal.

14.99 x .30 = $4.49

$4.49 is the discount you get off

$14.99 - $4.49= $10.50

To find the tax you multiply $10.50 x tax

Now tax of 8%, changed to decimal .08

To find the tax amount multiply $10.50 x .08= .84

Now add the tax $10.50 + 0.84= $11.34

$11.34 is your final price
