This is because he saw these people were in trouble and in desperate need of help. He wanted the best for them and their families even if he or his loved ones would face serious consequences. Sugihara's only concern was the protection of the Jews. 
2.     I would not consider being a diplomat in the future. These officials have very serious jobs that require a lot of patience, responsibility, and skills to handle certain situations and I would not want all that stress on me.
3.     Japan was not interested in any affairs as they wanted to maintain their independence and self-sufficiency so no, I do not believe Sugihara’s decision of issuing visas for Jewish people has protected Japan’s national interests.
