Many aspects make up the meaning of identity and belonging in Indonesia. Religion is one of the core aspects that create an understanding of what identity is in Indonesia as an individual and as a community. The most common religion found in Indonesia is the Islamic faith considering the daily practices and beliefs, for many Indonesians their faith provides their sense of belonging. 
The traditional food in Indonesia is also another key aspect of feeling a sense of identity in Indonesia. Indonesian food uses many traditional and authentic spices and flavours. 
Scenery, agriculture and landmarks is also another big aspect, with many foreigners visiting the lands of Indonesia to experience the beauty of the scenery and nature. 
The whole culture is also a key to having an identity in Indonesia. There are many traditions and cultures in Indonesian society, and the spread of these traditions, cultures and practices brings diversity and inclusiveness. The film “Aruna and Her Palate” shows how belonging and identity in Indonesia can be found in the sharing and dividing of culture in food and travelling to different places in Indonesia. The film shows the diverse ingredients, processes, spices, traditional dishes and the authentic locations Aruna explores to find these dishes, as it gives a close look at the locals serving and creating these dishes. This film inspires me to ask Al-Firdaus school about their meals they normally eat, if they are able to cook and what are some authentic places they travel to.

While in the film "Keluarga Cemara", we see how the family moves into a small village. The film explores what life is like in the village in Indonesia and shows the environmental aspects and features around Indonesia, we see the inclusiveness as a small community is formed. This inspires me to ask more questions about the culture of family and community Indonesia, I'm curious about what it is like in villages and smaller locations and also what animals are commonly seen.
