Strike Affects All

Traffic is better, classrooms half empty, workers took time off, what happens now? Classrooms tend to be the basis in which learning takes place. The talk about children being the next generation of change now seems absurd. On the other hand, their safety is also important which is understandable. Especially pupils attending system school. However, just because there's a strike doesn't mean that everyone has to choose a side to take. I strongly believe that it is best to remain neutral in this sort of situation.

Reputation Vs People

At this time of November, the APEC summit is happening. Therefore, PNG will be exposed to the world now being at the global scale. Thus, the leaders of PNG will be doing their best trying to show other world leaders that we can do it too.

There will obviously be some let downs so that should most definitely be expected. This will mainly come from the citizens of PNG. Yes, they have the right to be angry but that needs to be controlled. But the fact that you suddenly care about your own country's welfare at the time of a important event like APEC and you suddenly fight against your leaders does not do any good. This might be a once in a while opportunity so we should at least make the best of it. leave the chaos and conflict for later if things don't settle down after the APEC.

40 Maserati's ???

PNG, also known as the land of the unexpected. The fact that the government purchased 40 Maserati's from Italy (K1 Mill per) for a summit lasting for 5 days brings a question as to what will happen to them after the APEC.

The vehicles that are driven by motorists and drivers are built for the kind of condition of which is dusty, moderately fast, and can withstand the harsh weather conditions in POM. Now back to the Maserati's, how long would it take to travel to the allocated APEC building's? Not too long I should say as traffic will not be heavy as usual. Also, of all the cars, why a Maserati? They could have at least picked a more spacious car. That would be understandable. Better yet, just purchase a Dina and all the delegates will sit together. Okay, well maybe not a Dina, but you should have a fair idea; something spacious
