_{Every student has the potential to succeed if they have at least one adult who believes in them. One core belief I have of students and their ability to achieve is to guide them to find their self-confidence within and then to nourish it. Another core belief I have is creating an environment where the student can development self and become a healthy balance of mental, social/emotional, and physical well-being. I believe if students can find that in themselves then it will lead them to positive outcomes during school and after. Empowering students and modeling these beliefs will create a safe space for the students.}

Advocacy

_{School counselors can implement programs to engage students in a positive and safe climate. Programs such as attendance incentives, anti-bullying programs and peer support programs. The school counseling programs can also increase positive outcomes on attendance, discipline, and achievement data. By creating this zone where every student can feel they have a place to go when they need support or resources will foster a relationship between students and the school counselor. The students will feel seen and heard by the school counselor who is advocating on their behalf to create this safe space within their school setting that will guide them to success.}

Ethical Standards

_{Ethical standards guide the work of school counselors by giving us a rule book. Every practice or job has guidelines, and the ethical standards are a rule book for school counselors which allows us to ensure we are giving the students an appropriate space where they can be supported, respected, and access the tools needed to reach their full potential. The ethical standards are a guide leading school counselors on a journey where in turn they can guide the students along their journey.}
