The workers find many treasures, such as a very well preserved fresco. In one of the buildings on the main street, the workers find many painted inscriptions. They also found many preserved foods such as bread and eggs. However, a worker told Weber that he had never seen a worse site, and he begins to lose confidence, but he keeps excavating the area. He hopes to find a temple full of objects, but with no such luck. And the artifacts about it. Alcubierre and his team of prisoners found a marble statue on the first day. They placed the marble statue in the king's garden. So the king can see it  on the first day. He does things differently than Alcubierre, he starts doing open-air excavating and does not fill in tunnels. He stays busy by excavating all three sites Pompeii, Herculaneum, Stabiae.  He discovers the seaside villa of Papyri, and makes lots of amazing discoveries.
