In Until They Bring The Streetcars Back, a pair of shoes symbolizes Cal. When Cal meets Gretchen, he feels bad for her because she has a strict father. Her father makes her wear ugly clothes and makes her look ugly so she doesn't attract boys. Since Cal feels bad, one day he stops by where Gretchen works and shows her he bought her a pair of new shoes. Even though he is saving up for a car, and he may not be able to afford the shoes, he still buys them. This shows that Cal is selfless and he cares about others. He is willing to give up what he has to help others

While reading Until They Bring The Streetcars Back, I was able to make a connection with Cal. Like Cal I have to make decisions and I don't know what choice is the right choice. Cal had to make the choice whether to help Gretchen, or leave Gretchen. I have a huge choice by next fall. I have to decide if I should stay in football, or if I should join Cross Country.

After reading this book, it reminded me of Cars 3. They are both similar because in Cars they go from regular gas cars to electric new cars. In the book we read they went from old streetcars to new buses. In both things they go from old to new and start to modernize the world.

After reading this book I realized that child abuse is common and you may not notice it. It could happen to anyone and you may not know. When Cal learned Gretchen was abused by her father he was caught by surprise, he didn't realize. He was also surprised when he found out that Gretchen lives not too far from him.

The theme in Until They Bring The Streetcars Back is to not give up. In the book Cal is trying to help Gretchen get away from her father who is abusive. Cal keeps trying to come up with plans, but his plans fail. The key to him saving her is that he didn't give up and eventually came up with the right plan.

This imagery showed that Cal was new to the woods and he is not used to the scenery because he lives where there are not many trees.

This song can help readers understand what the story is about. This song pretty much represents the story in Gretchen's eyes. In the song it talks about being afraid to let go, suicide, if others are gonna let'em go. It also sets the mood and kind of gets you in your feels.

Even though his plans weren't working, he kept trying and never gave up on Gretchen. Cal was not going to let Gretchen down and let her end up like her sister.

This video will help give an understanding of what it was really like and how everything was. It also appears that this video was taken a long time ago, similar to when the story takes place.
