We are so data heavy in schools now - externally produced and cascading in, internally generated to identify universal and targeted impacts. Further thinking around how best to structure our improvements around best data sources to show true lasting impact.

Honest evaluation of cultures within settings and even across local authorities should be a focus here. People are at different places on this.

Meta-cognition as an embedded approach to leanring. Pupils can articulate where they are, what their next steps are and can evidence/profile their achievements. pupils use data too as a matter of course, it's their data after all.

KISS it! Keep It Simple, Schools. If some in your community have barrers around language, literacy etc, rather than always using questionnaires online etc, use practical tools such as Dotmocracy, diamond 9s, "corners" and take photos etc with stakeholders in real-time to make it more engaging and informed and to ensure feedback is human. It's hard to hate close up!

Starting with the learners and HGIOURS- it's their learning experience and they know what would make it better. Let's ask them more and share that out with parents, rather than starting with parental expectation (often unrealitic and unsustainable) and trying to "hit" that.
