This picture perfectly presents the role of plants in society and in the environment. It shows how the plants use photosynthesis to create their own food so that they can then be used as food for other animals. It also shows that many plants are used to form habitats for animals. They use carbon dioxide to make their own food and give off oxygen for other beings to survive.

I chose this video because it discusses the photons and wavelengths and explains how visible light is used for photosynthesis. The animation has an in depth explanation of how light energy is converted in to chemical energy. It also goes through the electron transport chain and ATP synthase. After a full explanation, the animation plays out so that you can see all of the steps together. It then goes through each step of the Calvin cycle individually. This animation completely broke down all of the steps of photosynthesis in to something very easy to understand.

The Tropical Rainforest is the biome that is home to the greatest diversity of species out of every other biome. The tropical rainforests are being cut down which is destroying these habitats and killing off entire species. The tropical rainforests also provide 20 percent of the world's oxygen, but even though they are so important to the environment and human life, they are being chopped down for logging and industrial purposes.

During the Neolithic revolution humans transitioned from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle to a lifestyle of agriculture. This diagram explains how the development of agriculture lead to the development of larger, denser populations. Cities were able to be developed. Social classes were also developed within those cities.

During the green revolution, after world war 2 agriculture production greatly increased. Agriculture started being turned in to a business. Innovators were sharing their inventions and techniques with other farmers so that food could be grown more efficiently. These techniques were adapted and shared with poorer countries. Wheat from Mexico was able to be sold in Europe. More rice was grown in China. More crops were being grown than ever before.

I believe that Paclitaxel is the most influential chemical in the world that is derived from a plant. It is used in chemotherapy because it blocks cancer cell growth by stopping cell division and ends in cell death. It is used to treat multiple types of cancer and enhanced cancer care a great deal. It is one of the best plant based cancer treatments. It expanded cancer treatment a great deal when scientists learned how to create in synthetically so that it could be more frequently used in treatments. https://www.cancer.gov/research/progress/discovery/taxol

CO2 levels will continue to rise because of our farming techniques. The Earth is being destroyed by deforestation. We will eventually run out of Earth to destroy.
