Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the the product?

While making the preliminary task, the main aim was to try and get all the necessary shots in. We had a plain and simple

story line and put it all together in sequences in Adobe premier pro. The shots we included was match on action, eyeline

match, 180 degree rule and shot reverse shot. It was a short clip, only 48 seconds long:

This was an effective shot as it shows her in one shot and then she continues it in the next. Which shows conitinuity.

Planning

In our actual thriller we spent a lot of time planning the shots effectively, organizing who will do what role, this took few weeks to complete, and there was still changes being made. However in the preliminary task, firstly the groups changed slightly, so there was new members and also we didn't spend that much time planning.

Our preliminary task was very short of 48 seconds, the length of the thriller is about 2 minutes, so it has more shots and more editing, which made it much more effective and the storyline was much more stronger and interesting for the audience to watch.

Errors

During the preliminary task, the camera wasn't steady throughout

the whole clip. Also the continuity if the edit needs to be improved. In the thriller

we made sure nothing was rushed and we did a lot of re-takes which meant

if one shot wasn't effective we would have had backups. Making sure the camera was

steady and the shots and lighting was very clear.

Music

By adding music in our thriller improved it much more as it added the suspense needed to keep the audience engaged. This improved it more as its a technique we didn't use in the preliminary task.
