The beginning of the project was the Speculative Objects task conducted by the Group Specialist Session Workshop.

I wrote after the workshop, "I focused on creating "strange" emotions, such as inserting zucchini pumpkins into a tripod, putting a spray in a McDonald's potato chip container, or putting a lemon in an AirPod."

I felt that the combination of objects that evoked strange emotions was very interesting, and I decided to investigate further in the research project to find out why.

One possible advantage of designing a conceptual model by different combinations of affordances is that users can build personal empathy for the product by realising the designer's intention or developing their own meaning while using the product. Maintaining empathy with a product can extend its lifespan and contribute to sustainable design. In addition, if we can find the new interaction through this design methodology, it can place the technology in a cognitively natural context, which can aid in the usability of the new technology.  And even if it is not related to usability, it is possible to expand its own category of product design by presenting a speculative design.
