Since we were at war with Japan the United States decided to take Japanese  -Americans away from their homes. They could only bring what they could fit in a little suit case. The United States took them to 9 different centers. These centers were called relocation centers. The names of them are the Gila River War Center, the Granada War Center, the Heart Mountain War Center, the Jerome War Center, the Minidoka War Center, the Poston War Center, the Rohwer War Center, the Topaz War Center and the Tule Lake War Center. At these centers they were treated like barn animals. They did not get anything, except for a hot stove.
