According to Adler, we see the beauty of an object as ‘admirable’ because of its certain properties which makes it intrinsically excellent or perfect. Admiring the beauty of an object is not immediate, as it should be reflected upon and dependent on the knowledge of the viewer. For an object to be called beautiful, it needs to have unity, proportion, and clarity. If an object is improperly composed, it is not admirable since it lacks intrinsic perfection, unlike an object that is nicely made. A person can only claim that an object or product of nature is admirable if they have the competence and knowledge about the object and it should be objective, not based on their feelings. They may also disagree about the beauty of an object as long as they state reasonable arguments. The judgments they make also reveals a certain truth about the object. People with no background about the object claim they claim as admirable or not have no right to do so because they cannot distinguish the admirable beauty of a thing.

The more admirable an object is, the more it might be enjoyed by everyone regardless of their culture and background knowledge. This does not mean that the admirable beauty of an object is associated with its enjoyable beauty, it just exhibits the objective and subjective dimensions of beauty. What is considered enjoyable for a person with no background may not be enjoyed by others or admired by experts. On the other hand, an object that is admirable in the eyes of experts may not be considered as enjoyable for laymen. This shows that they will learn to enjoy what is considered admirable. The more the beauty of an object is enjoyed by a person, the more chances of finding it admirable as they may see its intrinsic excellence through the satisfaction they get from its beauty.
