serfs went to seek for other works. 
lords never worked and needed their land kept, and they hire serf and they demand price.

The church was losing power because people were losing faith. They thought that god would save them and praying was the answer but not only did they still die the priests and bishops also died. Not only was the church losing power, the kings and nobles also lost power.
