Central Idea - Theme by Susan Campbell

This poem can be read literally (as a narrative), or it can be interpreted figuratively (as a metaphor for all of life's decisions).
Q: What is the main message that applies to both interpretations?

This quote shows that the narrator could not travel both roads so the narrator had to make a decision. In the text it also state's " be one traveler , long I stood ".This quote shows that the narrator was only one person so he could not travel both roads. This is main message that applies to both interpretations.

The main message that applies to both interpretations is that the man in the poem has to make a decision between two diverged roads and it is ok to do things differently. In stanza one it states" sorry i could not travel both road".The quote shows that the narrator has to make a decision of which roads to use.The text also states"I took the one less travel by ,and that has made all the difference".This shows that he choose a different road from others because he wanted to be different and not many people use that road.Finale, this is the main message that applies to both interpretation.

The main message that applies to both interpretations is that the narrator decided to take the road that not many people went through. In stanza 20 it states "I took one less traveled by ". This quote shows that the narrator had decided to take the road that most people didn't about going through. In the poem it states "oh I kept the first for another day". This quote shows that the narrator was going to come back and take the other path. This is the main message that applies to both interpretations .

The message that the author and narrator is to be a leader and not a follower. In the text it states " Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less travled by." This proves that he's making a message to make your own path. Also in the text it states " I took the one less traveled by” This proves that he chose to make a decision to not follow where everyone else is going. In conclusion, the message the narrator wants to show is to be a leader and not a follower
