Dangers of Loneliness

The way this article is related to Dante`s is because ever since he was arrested at his wedding slowly his friends stopped visiting him and starts to lose friends. It makes Dante forget who he was and forget everything that happened and makes him regret things. ¨In fact, evidence has been growing that when our need for social relationships is not met, we fall apart mentally and even physically. There are effects on the brain and on the body. Some effects work subtly, through the exposure of multiple body systems to excess amounts of stress hormones.¨

In the text the bird feels lonely because he is in a cage and has no freedom and flaps and sings and does as much as he can do to get out to have freedom. The way this affects him is because it brings pain into him for what he is doing and does not get to communicate with other birds. ¨For he must fly back to his perch and cling. When he fain would be on the bough a-swing. And a pain still throbs in the old, old scars. And they pulse again with a keener sting — I know why he beats his wing!¨

This relates to Dante because both the bird and Dante were caged and locked up. They both feel lonely and are locked up for no reason and are innocent. They can not really communicate with friends and family and want freedom and are doing as much as possible. ¨I know why the caged bird sings, ah me, When his wing is bruised and his bosom sore, — When he beats his bars and he would be free;

It is not a carol of joy or glee.¨

Social Media, Loneliness, In Anxiety In Young People

The main idea the author is trying to tell us is that the more we use social media the more social anxiety it could cause. Social media can make you jealous because it makes you want to be where people are at and it makes go crazy to go see whats going on in social media. ¨But what was interesting was that this stress wasn’t a function of how small a respondent's social network was, but how large it was – the larger the Facebook network, the greater the stress – so a large network of friends on social networking sites may also be an added source of stress to today’s young people.¨ This evidence goes with this answer because its telling us how social media affects us the way we use it.
