Thank you for attending the meeting. Remember this is considered a scheduled shift, so being on time and attendance are expected.

Remember to count your till at the beginning of your shift. If it is off, check with the person who is on their way out. If that person is not there (i.e., you open), note on your cash balance sheet that the till started out off. If this is done the till being off will not count against you.

Make sure you are filling out all of your paperwork for your deposits, balance sheet needs to be fully filled out, match the amounts on the reports, and the amount of cash you actually have needs to be correct on your sheet. Continue keeping drop in sheets and free day passes to include in your deposit. Please place the paper items (cash, checks, receipts, etc) inside the other 3 papers (cash balance sheet and 2 reports) and fold the sheets in thirds around them. Change can be put in the deposit bag however. This just makes my process a little easier.

Make sure when accepting a day pass that it is filled out, has been signed by a merit and is not expired. write void across the pass. Run it through SportsMan and give the patron a receipt (yes, for $0, we must give everyone a receipt).

For refunds, the patron must fill out the request form. The only exception is if it can be voided by a merit, which means the payment was taken in the same till that is still open. When they fill out the form, make sure they have read it. It does not guarantee a refund, and if they get one we will most likely keep 25% for administrative fees. Make sure their name and address are correct on the form, because that is where the check will be sent. Checks can take 2-6 weeks to get to the patron. If they want a credit on their account, that can be done as soon as I get the written request and they won't have to wait for a check.

The policy for tills being off will be 3 strikes in a month.

First month

I will talk to you each time it is off.

The second time in one month that it is off, your shifts will be decreased.

Third time in a month, sit down with Merits to see if you need more training or what we can do.

Second month

If you are off 3 times in a second month, you will be given a final warning.

Third month

If you are off 3 times in a third month, you will be taken off the schedule.

Please let me know if you'd like more cash handling training, I'd much rather do that than have you in trouble when all that is needed is more training.

Make sure you are wearing a county parks and rec shirt for every shift, it is your uniform. I just need you in something that has the logo visible. Layer under your t-shirts if you are cold, if you have jackets or hoodies with a logo feel free to wear them.

I have added the on call shifts to the remainder of October and they are on the November schedule (I will be putting that out this week). If you are ill or have an emergency, you need to contact the on call person. That person will need to go in to cover. Once coverage has been arranged let Kim or another Merit know what is going on. If you are on call, don't worry about calling in before shifts, just understand that people will be calling you if they cannot go in and you are to cover.

Being late: this is slightly different than what we discussed, but I think you'll like it better. Late is anything over 5 minutes after your scheduled shift.

If you are late more than once in a week, you will get a warning

If you are late more than 4 times in one month, your shifts will be decreased

If being late is a consistent pattern, you will need to meet with Merit staff to decide what we will do

Please be on time out of respect for the patrons and for your coworkers. Consider how you would feel if you were having to wait for your coworker to come so you could be able to leave. 5 minutes early would be even better so they get to leave when scheduled to do so.

We are taking all your ideas for the drop-in process and looking at what we can make work to make improvements.

Thank you for all your input! I really value your ideas, so please pass any others you might have along to me. I want you to have a say in what goes on and how we can make things easier for you.
