In this module we therefore explore three key questions that you should consider when using tablets in your teaching and learning:

Why do I want to use tablets? In other words what is the added benefit in general and more importantly what is the benefit for my own situation.
Tablets are easy to carry around and I believe that pupils can use it to integrate their own learning style, use more their strength and hopefully strengthen their weaknesses. They can keep track of their learning in one place with eBooks, videos, notes etc. and show their knowledge from new perspective. They will also learn to communicate and work collaboratively together also from a distance with online programs like Skype.Teachers can follow their pupils learning by using all kind of sources and apps like Moodle, Khanacademy, Socrative etc and every one can have their content shared in clouds like Goggledrive and Dropbox etc

What do I need to consider at a more broader, whole-school level when using tablets? In my school we have iPads and WiFi and almost every pupil has a smartphone so its more the time to integrate it in our school and money to get a class/a group devices.

What do I need to consider at a classroom level when using tablets? I found it most easy to start, with my learning to use tablets and with my pupils, was doing small projects in eTwinning and integrating it in my teaching. The next step is/was to get my co-workers to work on similar ideas to begin with.

So at the end of this module you should have achieved the following learning objectives:

Reflected on the use of tablets in general as well as in your specific situation

Explored a range of challenges of using tablets in schools

Identified a key challenge for your school and suggested an idea how to address it

Explored a range of challenges of using tablets in classrooms

Identified a key challenge for your classroom and suggested an idea how to address it http://creative.eun.org/observation

Comment

This is a very good Learning Diary. I enjoy very mucho reading this. You have a lot of great material, by you and your students. I understood your answers very well. In fact I will keep some of your resources, links and recommendations. Great job, congratulations. Only you must have to fix 3.5 link, because you wrote Actionbound and the link is about TeamUp. Your answers are very specific, you have a lot of materials about your experience with your students. I am sorry but cannot found your school name. The videos of your students are great. This is a great lesson plan incorporating many elements covered in the course. The assess propose is very good. You have a very good balance, although your percentage of collaboration is a little bit more than 35% (but I think that it is not a big problem). You have done a great job at gathering resources from different sources. You have a big list of links that I have to visit, thanks. Congratulations excellent job.

Thank you Karina.

Best regards, Ásta

Comment

This is an excellent and comprehensive Learning Diary! You have done a great job of collecting resources from many different sources. You have included many posts, ideas, links, photos and videos. I like the idea to put videos of the apps that you want to remember in a playlist. It's very smart to put the links to the lesson and to all the Learning Diaries (i actually put now this links to my LD…). You have answered all modules questions and you have identified concrete examples of apps and methods you use in the classroom with your students. Your lesson plan (Learning Design) is well balanced and aligned with its learning outcomes and stated aims. The fact that you give the students the opportunity to have an impact on their new school ground, is very good example of a project that relevant and motivates students. The collaborative work process is impressive. I liked FB after every day of work. This lesson is an excellent example of use tablets for collecting materials, sharing and creating meaningful products. Thanks for a wonderful experience and idea!

Thank you Tamar

Best regards,Ásta
