Using diverse reading materials from different cultures. Reading books by an author from a different cultural background, showing how they got to where they are now. During black history month, reading books about Rosa Parks or Martin Luther King Jr. would be great literature to incorporate diversity.

History

Exploring and discussing current events from diverse perspectives. Teaching students about history such as the Mexican Revolution that took place from 1910-1920.

Creating art pieces that define different cultural backgrounds. During the month of May for Cinco de Mayo making crafts such as flower crowns, Macarenas and sombreros.

Mathematics

In math we will learn the different currencies all over the world and how to exchange currency. As an educator with family still in Mexico I would provide actual pesos to show the classroom.
