*During Shakespeare's time superstitions held relentless sway over the human mind. the woods were thought to be the homes to faeries. 

*And the people believed that goblins and will-o-the wisps haunted the fields.

* many or most superstitions involved Demons and were believed to be responsible for many things that happened like demons tempting innocent humans,possessing locusts and causing swarms.

* One of the silly superstitions was that if you sneezed you were basically opening a passage way to demons and the only way to stop it was if someone said "bless you."

*  Another common superstition people held in their minds was of witches. the people accused witches of causing storms that were destructive. especially if there was damaging winds and lightning. 

*And there was only 1 way to tell if a women who was accused of being a witch true. and that was throwing them in water like a lake or river. the point was if you drowned you were innocent but if you swam you were guilty.

*there was only certain people who were branded witches allowed to live and they were healers 
*because the healers  could miraculously cure those they love and those around them. they were deemed very useful.

*because of the demons the people believed to exist some of the priests would preform a  specific ritual to expel the demons.this ritual is known as an exorcism.

We found a few of the facts very interesting, such as one about sneezing. Sneezing was believed to release the demons out of your head. I can see how some of these superstitions are still used today, but some are out dated.
