1902: The federal reclamation act would later then provide the city with what was needed to construct structures to bring water from the valley to the agricultural region.

1904: the water situation was now dire and LA needed a water source from Owens valley to store that water underground. But Mulholland faced the water rights to that Lake which he fought for. the settlement ended in the city having to pay in order to get that water.

1905-1907: There was the first bond issue for the La aqueduct. Mulholland also attempted to get the people to vote on using the Owens valley water but the project didn't pass. Then there was a need for federal help to get the Reclamation project going but they were refusing to give it to him till Roosevelt opened the project then in 1907 terminated the project.

1920: With the population growth and the city's growth, there was an even more drastic need for water but a severe drought.

Most of the agriculture was affected by the drought and wanted to use the water source of Owens valley to grow their crops. The issue with this is that the people living near the lake were losing their water resources due to LA's use. Now the city had to pay to get that source of water, this resulted in many farms declining in the agriculture region.

1984 - The Rush Creek was restored following a lawsuit by the Mono Lake Committee, The National Society, and California Trout Inc. 

1986 -  Lee Vining Creek's Flow was restored 

1989 - Diversions were haltered by the State Superior Court because of pending results of a study that effects 6,377 levels (40 feet below level) had on the lake's ecosystem. This was to protect the gull colonies.

Due to the events, the California legislature passed AB444, which established $60 million for Los Angeles to work on reclamation and project facilities. 

1990 - Walker and Parker Creeks were restored

Following the restoration of the creek, the 3rd district court of appeals ruled that flows would have to be re-established.

1991 - Gull population was increasing and the lake level was 6,375

Court Ordered that the lake level should be at 6,390 max 

1992 - H.R 429 authorized federal money to restore Mono Lakes shoreline
