I helped create a unique American Idenitiy by proposing the revolutionary idea that a government is created and can control its ctizens through its laws because it protects their intrisnic (natural) laws and also their property. This idea spread to revolutionary leaders in America such as Benjamin Frankling and Thomas Jefferon, and his ideas are reflecred in the Declaration of Independence and the Consitution.

I helped create a unique American Identity by causing greater political participation in the colonies than anywhere else in the world due to the fact that many of the colonies were royal colonies, under the influence of the king, who appointed people under his control to make and pass laws. However, only a few people could vote (white, landowning men) yet there was a higher general political particiaption and knowledge about it than any other place in the European world at the time.
