I had a wonderful experience working at the Brazilian Air Force for 8 years, where I was able to apply my leadership skills effectively in many cases. Specifically one, during my time there I bring to you:

I had the opportunity to demonstrate my decision-making, solve problems and adaptability Skills while leading the IT team through various challenging scenarios. One notable instance was on August 15, 2022, when the city of Canoas in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, was struck by a severe storm. This storm caused extensive damage to a significant portion of the city and many Brazilian Air Force buildings, resulting in over 1,200 military personnel being offline due to communication towers and air cables being knocked down.

This situation presented a significant challenge for me as the head of IT and for all members of my IT teams. However, we quickly mobilized and worked tirelessly to restore connectivity, access to data center and telecommunications center, demonstrating our resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to supporting both our internal and external clients within the organization.

Innovation Amidst Chaos: How a Bold Idea Transformed the Brazilian Air Force's IT Landscape

Limited resources are a constant, even in private enterprises. Since no one likes to lose money, the CEO of a company expects to profit from financial "investments" made. Not only do governmental institutions lack revenues, but their resources are much more constrained—this is particularly true when the organization in question is a military force, such as the Brazilian Air Force. This is a fact, not a criticism.

Thus, in this case, about 95 percent of the PCs were quite old, severely depreciated, and in horrible shape. A small number of PCs were still running Windows XP in 2023. Since Linux was the only operating system that could operate on these computers without freezing, many of them were eventually converted to Linux (Linux being the final choice for obsolete computers; after that, they're practically considered junk). As a result, the workload for our Helpdesk supporting desktops and laptops was excessive, and in many instances, replacement components were not readily accessible.

To reduce the amount of maintenance work orders in this chaotic circumstances, I called all those under my command to a conference at the Guarnição de Aeronáutica de Canoas (GUARNAE-CO) in Brazil. In order to come up with solutions to end this issue permanently, or at least in the long run, we had a brainstorming session.

'Why don't we ask other public organizations if they have any donations?' said one of my sergeants, who also happened to be the most modern member of my team, during the brainstorming session. Even while it might not be a complete solution, it might introduce something fresh that could help us make other computers better. The crew laughed and made jokes about this notion at first, but I thought it was a real one, so I asked him to clarify.

He said that a friend of a friend had told him about computer offers from a Regional Labour Court. We had nothing to lose, so I thought it was worth a go despite the pessimism.

I had a longer conversation with the sergeant following the meeting. I then asked my commander for permission to investigate this further. He had serious doubts and skepticism regarding the possibility of such a mission succeeding. But I did my "homework", and was convict this was a great chance. So I was able to persuade him that, if given the chance to move forward, this mission could be a huge success.

My commander grudgingly granted my request after much discussion, but only on the understanding that there would be no disruptions to services or lower production during this assignment. The Brazilian Air Force doesn't pay overtime, so I knew I would have to work extra hard, before and after the shift but I was determined to make it work.

With perseverance and hard effort, we were able to upgrade more than 500 PCs and 30 notebooks, 19 data center server, in addition to acquiring over 200 furniture items, including desks, seats, couches, and cabinets, refrigerators all of which were almost brand-new in comparison to what we had previously.

In conclusion, thanks to the hard effort of the entire team and the acceptance of a recommendation from an unexpected source, we were able to accomplish major modifications without having to invest a single penny.

The Eagles' "Hotel California": Unveiling Hidden Stories Behind the Classic

This music was released before I was born, but it became a part of my childhood. When I played with my father's tools in his workshop, I listened to this song several times, and it always brings back memories of that special time in my life.

The Eagles' iconic song "Hotel California" is one of rock's most enigmatic and celebrated tracks. While the haunting melody and cryptic lyrics have intrigued fans for decades, there's much more to this classic than meets the ear. Rolling Stone's feature article, "[The Eagles’ ‘Hotel California’: 10 Things You Didn’t Know](https://www.rollingstone.com/feature/the-eagles-hotel-california-10-things-you-didnt-know-111526/)," dives deep into the lesser-known aspects of this legendary song. Here, we explore some of the fascinating revelations from their in-depth exploration.

1. The Song's Genesis

The article reveals that "Hotel California" began as a simple instrumental demo created by guitarist Don Felder. Initially titled "Mexican Reggae," the early version lacked the iconic lyrics that would later define it. This working title hinted at the song's fusion of rock and Latin influences.

2. Inspiration from a Road Trip

The song’s evocative imagery, from the "dark desert highway" to the "cool wind in [one’s] hair," was inspired by a trip through the vast, empty landscapes of California. Don Henley and Glenn Frey drew on their experiences traveling through the state to craft the vivid, almost surreal narrative.

3. The Recording Process

Recording "Hotel California" was an intricate process, detailed by the Rolling Stone article. The Eagles spent eight months perfecting the track, utilizing cutting-edge studio technology of the time. The meticulous production contributed to the song's polished and timeless sound.

4. Lyrics with Layers of Meaning

The lyrics of "Hotel California" have sparked endless speculation and interpretation. Henley has described the song as a commentary on the excesses of American life, particularly in Los Angeles. Themes of hedonism, self-destruction, and the loss of innocence are interwoven throughout the verses.

5. The Famous Guitar Solo

One of the most memorable features of "Hotel California" is its extended guitar solo, played by Don Felder and Joe Walsh. The Rolling Stone piece highlights how the dual-guitar interplay was meticulously composed and rehearsed, creating one of rock’s most iconic solos.

6. Cover Art Controversy

The album cover, depicting the Beverly Hills Hotel, became a subject of legal dispute. The hotel management objected to its depiction, fearing it would tarnish their image. Despite the controversy, the cover has become as iconic as the song itself.

7. A Symbol of the 1970s

"Hotel California" has been interpreted as a symbol of the 1970s rock and roll lifestyle. The decade’s themes of freedom, exploration, and eventual disillusionment are encapsulated in the song’s narrative arc.

8. Cultural Impact and Legacy

Rolling Stone emphasizes the song's lasting impact on popular culture. "Hotel California" has been covered by numerous artists across various genres, demonstrating its wide-reaching influence. Its lyrics and melody continue to resonate with new generations of listeners.

9. Myths and Misconceptions

Many myths surround "Hotel California," from urban legends about the hotel itself to far-fetched theories about hidden satanic messages. The article dispels these myths, providing clarity on the song's true origins and meanings.

10. Enduring Popularity

Decades after its release, "Hotel California" remains one of the Eagles' most beloved songs. It regularly features in greatest songs lists and continues to be a staple on classic rock radio. The Rolling Stone article celebrates the song’s enduring appeal and its place in rock history.

For a more detailed exploration of these points, be sure to read the full article on Rolling Stone's website: [The Eagles’ ‘Hotel California’: 10 Things You Didn’t Know](https://www.rollingstone.com/feature/the-eagles-hotel-california-10-things-you-didnt-know-111526/).

Now, the same photo in black and white because I tried to make some adjustments and I think this photo without colors is pretty good, don't you think? I used the site Canva to edit this image. You can try it too; it's a free site that's easy to use. Even so, I think the resolution is quite large, so I will try to reduce it in the next post. I used Photoshop Web (https://www.photoshopweb.net) to reduce the resolution. It is a free site, and you can make these changes when you try to export the image. It's very easy to use.
