She needs everything she has to go in threes or multiples of 3. For example “...and squeeze the butterfly in my palm. Nine, nine, six. Again. Nine, nine, six. Once more. Nine, nine, six.” -Page 33. She also feels the sudden urge to steal that is unshakable. An example of that is “...the urge rips through me, fierce, insatiable. My arm shoots forward to the table, and I pull the horse pendant necklace into my fist and walk quickly, sharply away.” -Page 32. -Counting while a task is being performed to end on a “good,” “right,” or “safe” number. Lo has a safe number, 3 and all  of itś multiples. If something is not a multiple of 3, such as 2 or 4, she feels unsafe.
-Repeating activities or movements in multiples. Lo also repeats almost everything in multiples of 3s because she feels that itś a safe, good number.
-Needing evenness or exactness. During many parts of the book, Lo rearranges her room so it will be even.
-Arranging things or putting things in order until it feels right. Lo also does this in her room many times, constantly rearranging and moving her possessions.
-Silently repeating a phrase/word.
