In the first few pages it contains stories with themes of social change, people fight for it and they do not give up on their dreams. the story's also contain elements of determination and perseverance. 
The book is about lesbians, gays, immigrants,and blacks that want equal rights. Hundreds of people are mentioned and talked about in this book.
