I chose a picture of a rooftop garden with a beehive also as my representation of how plants interact with society and the environment. I chose this because I believe as we modernize, the role of plants will become more industrialized and better utilized by humans. This is evident as we see a growing number of rooftop gardens paired with bee hives in an effort to maximize the benefits of both living creatures.

I chose this animation as it easily depicts the electron transport chain which I personally have a hard time understanding the details of. This animation made that much clearer. This animation also depicts the Calvin Cycle which I believe can be very confusing to understand. it depicts it clearly, with every material involved labeled, and it shows exactly how molecules are rearranged. It also shows it once while being narrated, and a second time without narration which allows the viewer to predict what will happen on their own and test their knowledge of the Calvin Cycle.

The Pteridophyte group includes the non flowering plants, ferns. there are many different kinds of ferns, however most prefer a shaded, moist environment. Ferns reproduce using spores which are typically located on the underside of their frons, or leaves. the Cinnamon Fern however contains its spores on a stalk which can be seen in the image. The stalks turn into a cinnamon color, which gives it its name. This image, is of a cinnamon fern (Osmunda cinnamomea), and these in particular prefer a slightly more wet environment than most ferns.

When we think of endangered biomes most likely the first one to come to mind is the tropical rainforest. The majority of these are on the south American continent and are currently being destroyed by logging, and farming which includes the slash and burn technique. This biome creates a very large portion of the breathable oxygen on earth and we are becoming increasingly closer to destroying this wonderful natural resource.

The Neolithic revolution, also known as the first agricultural revolution, was the major factor in creating classes in the human population. These classes existed in small tribes or groups with certain members having more power than others, however the revolution greatly increased this difference. It created an elite and wealthy class. these member were the ones who owned land. they had power because those who owned the land, owned the ability to grow food. The lower classes could not grow their own food if they did not won land, therefore they had to borrow the elites land to grow their food on. This meant that the lower class were constantly indebted to the upper class.

The chemical I chose is ethanol. This chemical comes in several forms and is used for many different purposes. In one of its most popular forms it is used as fuel for engines. This chemical is derived from plants and can be created from biomass to be a plant based fuel. it is also a base chemical in ethyl alcohol which is used for many medical purposes. This chemical can be made from decomposing plants and can be made to be used as fuel. It has the potential to be one of the next "green" produced engine fuels.

I chose this picture because I believe that if current farming and environmental trends continue in their current path we will begin to run low on food as a whole. in order to meet the growing demand nations will have to work together to create new farming solutions in order to feed the major cities. if this does not occur many people will be forced to move to more rural areas in order to practice sustenance farming and population will slowly dwindle.
