Near the end someone in the video said "Charles Darwin was the beginning" And I think that's true. He would be proud of what scientists are doing today. Because of the video, I now know how such closely related animals are so different. Charles Darwin was really smart and I wish that people in his time noticed that sooner so we could have more today. Because of him we now know so much about Evolution that we wouldn't have if he didn't wonder about basic things and traveled around the world to conduct his study. Small changes in DNA have a profound effect, I think that highlights the difference in all of us. DNA is very, very important. Today we have mostly learned to accept other opinions, like religions. When Charles first presented the theory that we evolved from not Adam and Eve everyone got mad, but today we seek out the ways that people think. Scientists do an amazing job helping the world and I am very grateful for them. That is when he realized that creatures evolved to fit their environments, thinking back to all of the other animals he saw. But there was one thing he didn't know, it was the genetic differences in the different types of animals. Darwin's idea was one of the best ideas ever. He also didn't like school except for natural history. Darwin one day traveled to the Galapagos islands to do some research and this is where his discoveries began. He went to the Galapagos and brought back 13 "different" kinds of birds but after doing research he found out that they were all types of Finch even though they all looked completely different. Later he found out why they all looked different, they all adapted to the different environment they lived in. If one finch on one island eats one sort of food then a different finch on a different island could have a completely different diet/kind of food. So they have to adapt to the environment such as there beak if its longer or shorter or fatter or thinner. This all started the ideas of what people are discovering today. So his dad sent him to a whole new city to start a different school and try to do better. When Darwin arrived he learned he could take science and wanted to be a scienstist. When Darwin became older he became a better scienstist and went on to learn alot about science. Darwin found out later in his studies found out that fish are ancestors of humans and he also found out that you can tell what island a ttotise is from by lookig at their shells. Darwin's studies were not finish until later on when their is better technolgogy.

  • The movie that we watched in class was about Charles Darwin and the theory he made and the things he never knew. He thought every living thing has a common ancestor. For better understanding of this theory he made the tree of life. The tree of life is a chart with all the living things on it and their ancestors. His theory has completely changed the way current scientists look at the way of life and evolution. Ever since this theory people have been trying to dig up fossils and take DNA tests to try and find ways everything is relatedHis first love with animals began at a zoo, thats where it all began. He was so fascinated in animals, all different types, a big thing he loved was birds and studying their relatioship to each other. People for over a centuries have been struggling to try and find more answers to this amazing theory and many people have gone such a long way and helped a ton. So many things are still undiscovered its certainly going to be n adventure to discover the rest of this theory.

We know that Darwin´s work was never completed. He was sitting on the clue of life but he did not know it yet. Variation is the starting point for change and no two things are alike. Darwin never knew what makes us human and why everyone and everything are different. It is not the genes that count it is how we use them. Changing a few letters in a sequence can have a big effect. Darwin never knew how an animal could lose their legs through time, but we know that four legged mammals came from fish. After a while Darwin figured out that old ancestors in the ground are related to species on Earth/living. No one ever came close to any of Darwin´s ideas. There is still so much more to understand how the world was risen.

Darwin also didn't know about how the Galapagos finches had such a different beak shape, the reason that they had a different was because they had the gene activated at different times. He didn't know about how the ( and I don't remember the name of this fish.) that lived in two different areas were the same fish they just looked different because the one in the ocean had spikes on its stomach and the one that lived in lakes didn't have spikes. What happened after Darwin's time was that we discovered that the fruit fly has two different species which look the same other than one has spots on its wings and the other doesn't. I don't have everything down but other people might have what I missed but last Darwin discovered and got the theory of evolution with his thought of humans being descended from fish. Things that are related to each other but different lead all the way back to the time when humans when fresh out of the oven, because if we didn't evolve from apes we would still be living in the forest just like our closely related chimps. Darwin never knew how four legged land animals evoled back into sea creatures such as whales. At that time people didn't have the tools to dig for fossils but when they could it took days to dig up a single fossil. So then they didn't realise that whales were decended from land animals. Just like whales Darwin never knew how animals lost their back legs through eveolution. He didn't know that whales still did have remnants of back legs but they don't have back legs.
