My father was born in 1975 in Guangdong China and spent his first 18 years living in China where he had his education all the way to the end of high school. In 1993 he and his family moved to Chicago where he took a year of American High school and a ELA class at Harold Washington College. He had a gone through 10 grades of education in his time from China and the US.

Immigration

After Immigrating he moved to Chicago due to already having relatives there. He due to where he was living which was near China Town He felt relatively no change in culture. My father's life was similar to that of China but with the problem of speaking the English

9/11

During the 9/11 terrorist attacks my father was in Chicago China Town. My father was with my grandpa and they were out getting breakfast when the news talked about how the first plane collided with the tower. Then when the second plane hit He believed that that Chicago was the next target

2008 Crash

The 2008 market crash was when the price of stocks crashed deflating the economy.This event actually positively affected my family and dad due to lowering the price of homes.

tiamensquare massacure

The Tiamensquare massacure happened very early in my fathers life and it had deeply affected what his future life could have been. If it wouldn't had happen my father would have been able to move and finish his education in the US rather then China and learn English.

Taiwan stance

My father didn't have much connection towards Taiwan but still believes its part of China. He believes this since its origins are based on China and the people are Chinese
