In my distance education course, I would use informal polling to gain a measure of students confidence in a particular skill. I would also use it informal assess their understanding prior to a formal assessment. With the use of Quizizz poll questions, I would also be able to engage my students in a gamified learning manner while assess their knowledge gain.

In my distance education course, I would use this form of assessment at least once every quarter. Every quarter, I would prepare a standardized test that is equivalent to the LEAP 2025 and ACT test that my students would encounter during the school year. By using Edulastic, I can create or utilize an already crafted test to give to my students. These tests would allow me to gather insight as to whether my students are grasping certain skills and if they are prepared for the state standardized tests. Questions types would include multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank, and drag and drop.

In my distance education course, I would use written responses as a form of assessment in sever ways. One way through will be a weekly math chat wherein students are required to answer a mathematical question in complete sentences. The chat is preparation for the other form types of written responses assessments such as on quizzes, tests, and/or comprehensive exams wherein the students will have questions which require them to explain/justify their answer.

In my distance education course, I would use oral presentations as a form of assessment at least once a month. With oral presentations, I'm able to determine if students are grasping certain concepts. Some students can explain an answer orally better than in a written format. By allowing students the opportunity to speak out their answers, I can gain insight as to whether they know the answer but just can explain it in words or if they just don't know the answer. With Flipgrid, students will be asked to answer and explain a question orally.

Being that math is a subject that requires students to be hands on, I find that skills tests/demonstration is a great form of assessment in my distance education course. With Delta Math and Explain Everything, it allows my students to be hands on from the comfort of their home. The students will be able to focus and practice math skills with Delta Math which will provide them with instant feedback as to their answers. In Delta Math, there are Help Videos to assist my students when they are stuck on a problem. With Explain Everything, I'm able to provide step-by-step demonstrations of how to solve math problems which will provide my students with extra assistance. Also, students will be able to collaborate and provide their own demonstrations of their work.

Activities are a great form of assessment. In my distance education course, I want to ensure my students are engaged and receiving effective activities that will enhance student knowledge. Students will have at least one daily activity that will range in time with a minimum of 15 minutes. The daily activity will be a fun and engaging way to interact with the current topic.

In my distance education course, I will assign at least two group projects. At least one group project. Group projects will allow students to use the skills they have gained over the span of the course. Students will work in groups of threes to complete the project and will use a Google Slides to create their presentation. Each group member will have a role and will be graded by the teacher but also by their peers. Peer evaluation will help with determining if the students input was received. Students will also have at least one day wherein they will have a Zoom meeting to discuss their progress with their group and the teacher. During this time, I can facilitate and ensure they are on the right track with their project.

Students will be instructed on certain activities, demonstrations, group project, and oral presentations they have created that must be downloaded and saved. They will then use Google Sites to create a portfolio of their work in a creative manner. Students will be graded on the required collection of the work, but also the creativity.
